2016 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

My family and I participated in this year's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. This cause is very near and dear to my heart as both my grandmother and aunt are breast cancer survivors. My grandmother is actually a two-time survivor and the absolute strongest woman that I know!

There were six of us on the team, better known as "Nana's Army of Pink". It included myself, my mother, my little sister, two of my aunts, and my cousin. Together we raised over $2,000 for the fight against breast cancer. It was a beautiful event. Thousands of people, of all colors, of all ages, of all walks of life gathered in our Nation's capital for such an important cause. It was truly inspirational. Mother Nature was even on our side. It had rained the entire week leading up to the walk, yet not a drop of rain fell that day.

Those bracelets were courtesy of my sweet No. 1. He made them for us. They were the icing on the cake. I can definitely see this becoming an annual tradition for us.

Stay tuned for next year's photos!
