Sports Mama Tip: Gift Ideas For Your Team Mom!

Team mamas are special. They are the team secretary, team cheerleader, team organizer, team party planner, team nurse, team counselor, team chauffeur, team photographer, amongst so many other things. In the words of my sweet friend Mindy, she is "the lady on the field that loves those boys just as much as their own mom".


Despite being all of these things, a fellow football mama brought to my attention recently that there aren't many resources out there with ideas for gifts for team moms. She asked me if I'd write a post with some, so here we go!

• Personalized apparel. Team mamas are full of team spirit, so you just can't go wrong with giving her something that she can wear proudly in the stands. Add a little bling if you can; because bleachers and bling, it's a sports mama thing!
• Meal prep service. I received a certificate for one of these a few seasons ago, and let me tell you- it came in handy! Your team mama spends more time at practices and games than she does at home, she'll take all the help she can get when it comes to cooking. Winner, winner, chicken (or whatever else she feels like eating!) dinner!
• Sports (spectating) gear. Because after all, that's what she does best. A cowbell, touchdown jar , stadium blanket, monopod; basically anything she can use on the sidelines is sure to have her smiling from ear to ear!
• Gift card. I don't think you can ever go wrong with this one. If you aren't exactly sure where to get her one to, a Visa is always your safest bet. This way she can buy herself whatever her little heart desires.
• Thank you card. This is hands down the gift that touches my heart the most. Your team mama doesn't do all that she does for the recognition. She does it because she loves it. A few kind words go a long way!
• Trophy! I've never received one, but I came across this one on Pinterest and thought it was the cutest thing EVER!!!

Team Mama Idea: Basketball End of Season Ideas

Basketball season has come and gone! At least non-AAU basketball which is a whole different animal. We'll talk about that sometime soon, I'm sure.


Although I was never officially "crowned" team mama (none of the boys' teams had one), I tried to help out where I could. For No. 3, I ran our TeamSnap and took pictures here and there. I also took up the collection for his Coach's gift. His coach has been nothing short of amazing with the team. Coaching 8 silly and super energetic, third grade boys (who also happen to have some of the shortest attention spans I've ever seen!) is no easy task!


We presented him with an Amazon gift card as well as a framed picture of a basketball, signed by all of the boys on the team. I found the picture on Pinterest as well as these cute, FREE printable gift card holders. Just download, print on cardstock, and attach with the gift card of your choice-that's it!

Coach absolutely loved his gift! He said it would be going up in his office.

No. 3 earned a new medal to add to his collection! (Click HERE to see how I organize them).

And the end of the season just wouldn't have been complete without cupcakes! I bought blue liners and decorated them with orange sprinkles to match our team colors.

How awesome is the thank you card the parents gave Coach Hubby?! I absolutely love it! The mama who coordinated the coaches gifts said she had it made at Walgreens. I will definitely be using her idea in the future!

Not that two basketball games, baking, and cosmic bowling with a bunch of eleven year old boys counts as staying in bed.

Soccer, A Football Party, & Playoffs!

Our weekends are always busy. Some more hectic than others. This weekend was no different. Super busy, but super fun! And the weather, the weather was absolutely AMAZING!


No. 3 had a soccer game. And we were ALL able to be there to cheer him on; myself, my hubby, No. 1, and No. 2. This is the first time that has happened all season!

He played extra hard. I'm sure having his papi and brothers there had a little something to with it. He looks up to them all!

And last but certainly not least, No. 1 and his teammates had 2 playoff games in 16.5 hours. (The first at 7:30pm on Saturday and the second at 12 noon today). And they won them both!

Confession: I may, or may not have, shed a few happy tears. They are going to the CHAMPIONSHIP, y'all!!!

Football End of Season Party Ideas

After three long months of hard work and an amazing Championship game run season, our boys deserved to go out with a bang!


I went with a laser tag party, which included two games of laser tag (even the coaches could play!) and pizza  because what kid doesn't like pizza (ok, my oldest child doesn't, but his twelve teammates do!)? Best of all, the players' parents didn't have to come out of their pockets, whatsoever. Did I cover it myself you ask? Not at all. The entire expense was covered by our Touchdown Jar . Our grand total came to $391.46!

We were blessed to have such a great group of football moms and dads this season! They were always willing to help, both on the field and off. So, it was no surprise when one of the moms offered to supply the cake. How awesome is she? And this cake??

As previously mentioned, our team made it to the Championship and as a result our club paid for their trophies! I ordered them from Trophy Depot. Aren't they lovely?

I was able to have a custom t-shirt made for every player on our team (and Coach Hubby!) with the remaining money from the touchdown jar! They had our team picture on the front, and last name and jersey number on the back. The boys were thrilled!

Can't forget about the coaches, right? I ordered each one a personalized football! This was not covered by the touchdown jar. They were covered by donations from the parents. I simply sent out an email asking for contributions from those who were able to help- no amount specified. I found them on Etsy.com. Sorry about the poor picture quality, I forgot to take a close up photo with my real camera.

Remember how amazing I said our group of parents were? Well, they truly out did themselves this season. They surprised me with a  football trophy bank, a HUGE cowbell, and a gift card for a food prep service!
